Beautiful Books That Make Great Gifts

Mythology: Timeless Tales of Gods and Heroes by Edith Hamilton

This hardcover 75th anniversary edition of Mythology is perfect for anyone with an interest in mythological lore. Hamilton retells myths in a simple and engaging way that makes her book a great place for those just getting into mythology to start.

For those that are already well-versed in ancient mythology, they will find that this book contains some stories they’ve never heard and details they’ve never realized.

Mythology is a book that will remain valuable forever because it can also be used as a sort of reference guide for anyone who writes, reads, or even just ponders mythology at any given time.

Tales of the Peculiar by Ransom Riggs

Although Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children book series and Tim Burton’s subsequent film reached their peak almost 10 years ago, this hardcover edition of peculiar short stories is perfect for anyone who has ever been a fan of the franchise.

This edition is very beautiful with shiny gold detailing, a ribbon bookmark, an no dust jacket to get in the way–which I love–and it is less than $15!

It looks lovely on a shelf, and the stories are easy to read over and over again because they are all so captivating.

Ancient Skies: Constellation Mythology of the Greeks by David Weston Marshall

Ancient Skies is another book perfect for mythology lovers, but it is also great for anyone with a fascination of the stars.

The author, Marshall, is a historian and researcher with 40 years of experience. His book not only tells how the stories/myths of constellations came to be, but he also shows his readers how identify each constellation.

This book would pair very well with Mythology if you are interested in giving a set of books on a similar subject matter.

Edgar Allan Poe: The Ultimate Collection by Edgar Allan Poe

There are many beautiful editions of Poe’s complete works, and this is just one of them. It includes his entire collection of stories and poems, all of them dark, of them brilliant.

Although most people are familiar with some of Poe’s most famous works, true devotee’s will appreciate having access to everything he has written. With his works spanning more than 1000 pages, it is safe to say that the receiver of this book will not have already read everything inside.

There are a lot of beautiful books in the world, but this list compiles a few that are timeless and look gorgeous on a shelf. However, if all else fails and you are set on a book for gift giving, you can always give your personal favorite as a heartfelt gesture or gather more ideas from my other book recommendation posts!
