Your job shouldn’t have all of you. Fear shouldn’t have all of you. Your phone shouldn’t have all of you. And, really, your goals shouldn’t have all of you either.
You need to exist outside of your daily life sometimes and be a part of something bigger than you’ll ever be.
I am not saying this as a nihilist. I am saying this as someone who is often discouraged about life but also as someone who has found that the answer to peace is getting away from your societal responsibilities on a regular basis.
The world will function just fine without you. You need to realize that.
I believe you are capable of great things. I believe everyone has the ability to do great things in this world. But I also believe that these things will never be as great as what we already have, what was given to us by the creator of the universe.
So, stop putting your value in materials, job-related success, and how you are perceived by other people. It doesn’t mean anything in comparison to the mountains.
(The photos are mine from some time spent in West Virginia. You don’t need many resources to do it, just go.)

‘The world will function just fine without you. You need to realize that.’ This feels so freeing, I love it
