I don’t dress to impress. (What a silly thing to say)
I dress to feel like a wood nymph who has come to live amongst humans with the dream of spending her life eating warm soups and devouring classical literature.

The clothing you carefully pick out at a thrift store and the very way you drape them over your being, makes your body and its adornments a work of art.
Those who get dressed each day, and have fun doing it, know that–besides legal reasons–the purpose of dressing oneself is to feel at home in what they are wearing. The purpose is to put on a second skin that fits just right. And you can’t find your perfect-fitting skin by worrying about what other people will think of the clothes you have on.
The act of getting dressed is a form of self-expression. However, this is only true for the ones who do not choose particular outfits in order to please the masses. Self-expression can only be found in those that are in tune with their own interests, desires, and longings. They know that when you dress with intention, it influences your daily actions, your creativity, and, ultimately, your entire future.
The way you dress yourself can hint at your personality and aspirations, but it is also a culmination of all those who have influenced you. The intention with which you choose and wear clothes is a culmination of your experiences, goals, values, and even your insecurities.
On the daily, however, the way in which you dress is influenced by your mood. But your mood is also influenced by how you dress. This is the power of clothes and the intention that is put behind them. When you wake up feeling like you and your whole life is a disappointment, but force yourself to take a meandering stroll in your favorite sweater and flowing skirt, it is a whole lot easier to see your life in a new perspective. Suddenly, you are strong and independent and melancholically beautiful and doing an amazing job at carving your way in this harsh world.
With all this said, it is important to note that you don’t need a bunch of clothes and accessories to be an artistic wearer-of-clothes. In fact, it is better if you don’t have much at all. You just need your wardrobe to be made only of pieces you adore.

I love this piece. I haven’t dressed up in the last three months, been thrifting pieces here and there for the vacation I am taking. I took an artistic and creative approach to express who I am and what I like on my home – my body.
I am so glad. I would love to hear if your new pieces factor into the enjoyment/feeling of adventure you get from your vacation. I hope you have a wonderful time.
